Memory of
Richard L. Harden
MTROBON KIWANIS CLUB
TRIBUTE TO RICHARD HARDEN

November 20, 2008
I rise in tribute to our fellow Kiwanian and
friend Richard Harden, longtime community leader and quiet doer of
so many good deeds.
Richard was an original member of the Audubon Kiwanis Club and took
responsibility for the success of the club from its inception.
He quickly became known throughout Division 12 and the entire
Kentucky-Tennessee District as a leader who could always be counted
on to initiate projects, motivate members, promote Kiwanis programs
and create goodwill.
Richard may have been an Audubon member, but he was viewed as a
resource and reliable worker by all Kiwanians who had the good
fortune to know him.
The example he set as an effective leader was marked by humility in
service throughout his wide ranging interests in the funeral
industry, his church, his clubs, his community and above all, his
loving family. Today,
we are proud to have Eleanor, Lisa and Bruce with us.
Many of us have known Richard’s family over the years because
of the help they provided on various projects including Homearama,
Kiwanis Children’s Christmas, Christmas Is For Kids and so many
other events and projects where they contributed materially to our
success. We want that
wonderful family to know how much we loved and respected Richard and
that we acknowledge their unfailing support.
In this remembrance we close by saluting the uncountable selfless
acts of kindness by our beloved friend and leader.
He will long be remembered as the principle binding element
in the life of the MetroBon Kiwanis Club and he leaves a vacant
place at our table and in our hearts.
Please join me in a toast to the life and service of this good man,
Richard L Harden. May
his abundant contributions be long remembered.
